All-rounder Jayant Yadav was appointed the captain of the Indian team on Sunday (November 4) for the Irmining Team Asia Cup to be held in Sri Lanka from December 2 to 17. Generally, under-23 players are selected for this tournament but now the players who are not covered under this age group have also been given a chance at the domestic level keeping in view their consistent good performance.

The Junior Selection Committee met in Kolkata, in which 15-member team was selected. It includes wicket-keeper batsman Parab Simran Singh who was the acting captain of India in the Under-19 Asia Cup. The major players who were not selected included Tushar Deshpande and Rituraj Gaikwad.
