Russell, with his help of seven sixes and one fours in his 13 balls, easily achieved this huge goal by making 48 runs in an innings. In this match, Bangalore captain Virat Kohli (84), AB de Villiers (63) scored 205 runs losing three wickets in 20 overs on the basis of the best innings.

RCB was confident about his first win of this edition by scoring a huge score of 206 runs, but Russell gave Kolkata his victory by introducing his stormy style. In the last two overs, Kolkata needed 30 runs to win. Russell, who came in 19th over, lost the veteran Tim Southee’s defeat to four sixes and a four off beat Bangalore. In the last over, Kolkata needed one run to win, which made them the match on the first ball of the 20th over.
